Who/what is Professional Career Consultants?

Professional Career Consultants (PCC) is a personnel and recruitment consultancy specialising in the placement of both permanent and temporary staff.

As a result of our diversity, we cater for companies' specific needs, including permanent, temporary and contract positions.

A personnel consultant is an agent who acts as a "middle man" and attempts to satisfy the needs of both job applicants and employers.

Our professional memberships

Professional Career Consultants employs only skilled consultants backed by practiced experience. The company is currently working towards the Total Quality Management Accreditation through the Services SETA and is actively participating in the Investors in People Programme.

We hold membership of the IPM (Institute of People Management) and APSO (Association of Personnel Service Organizations of South Africa).

The Institute of People Management (IPM) is a non-profit organization that was founded 59 years ago with the aim of providing appropriate, relevant knowledge and information on effective leadership and people management to human resource professionals and management in general.

IPM dedicates its efforts to providing knowledge and tools for strategic people development and leadership, which contribute to growth, profitability and sustainability of businesses.

IPM believes that its effectiveness can and should be measured by relevance, accessibility, and quality of service provided to its members. Mpho Letlape leads IPM as the President and Dudu Msomi oversees the operations side of the company as the Chief Executive Officer.

Our mission is to be the professional association trusted and valued by HR practitioners. We provide knowledge and tools for strategic people development and leadership, which contribute to growth, profitability and sustainability.

APSOAPSO logo

An association known as APROSA (Association of Private Registry Offices) existed for about 10 years before APSO'S formation. It had established its membership mainly among those companies that operated as 'registry offices' in line with the then current legislation.

With the tremendous growth and diversification of personnel services in the Republic including general office, professional and executive and technical placements and of temporary staffing services, by 1976 the need for a more representative body, to safeguard the interests of all sections of the industry, was clearly recognised.

The association would represent members in their dealings with the Government and promote and ensure, for the benefit of both work seekers and clients, adherence to high ethical standards of business.

APROSA was the catalyst, which led to the formation of a new association and, at a National Convention on 25 August 1977, companies in the various fields of personnel service agreed to form an entirely new association called the Association of Personnel Service Organisations of South Africa (APSO).

Upon APSO's formation, APROSA voluntarily dissolved itself and transferred its funds to APSO. After careful study, APSO adopted a Constitution and Code of Ethics, based on those used by similar associations in the USA, UK and Australia.

Our community involvement

Professional Career Consultants is proud to be involved in various community initiatives and projects. Amongst others, we support Huis Maroela (a refuge for abused women and children) and PROTEC (the Palabora Foundation's Programme for Technological Careers).
